Dear Students:
It is mock-1 time. So please study the study materials specified by the syllabus which we covered and can be found in the followings:
- Your "Explaining Physics" Textbook
Table-1 and Table-II show you where to find the study materials in your textbook. Table-1 lists the study materials in order by sections of your textbook.. The phrase "All " means the complete materials of the section are required and you must study them. If no all is listed, that means you should study the specified topics and
pages. Table-II lists the study materials in order by syllabus topics.
- Lectures in class
Please review your copybook for covered lectures in class.
- Notes on Internet
Please review all the notes put for you on this web-site.
To evaluate your progress please solve problems in
- Past Paper to Study
It is recommended to study all past papers (P1, P2, P3 and P6) starting from 2000 down to 1990. Concentrate on 1999-1995 papers for section-1, section-2, section-3 and section-4. Try to solve all questions that are related to the followings topics :
- Barometers
- Manometers
- Meters readings: voltmeters, ammeters
- Resistors in Series
- Resistors in parallel (2 and 3)
- Speed-time graph
- Length-time measurements
- Mass and force spring meters
- Time measurements
- Weight of objects and weight direction
- Volume measurements using cylinders
- Moment
- Acceleration, constants acceleration, ma=zero
- Potential-Kinetic energy
- Sources of energy and their type:. Chemical, nuclear gravitational, heat, sound, electrical, ...
- Voltage and current measurements
- Energy conversion
- units of physical quantities: work, power, acceleration, energy, voltage, current, charge,
- Pressure comparison at various depths and various liquids
- Load-extension graph
- Equilibrium conditions on a plank
- Units definitions and meaning: voltage, current, charge ...etc
- Drawing of standard circuits from physical layouts
- Work, Energy, and power
- Textbook Problems
There are questions on each section please try to solve all of them. Also see further questions for each chapter.
- School Exams and quizzes
Review previous quizzes and exams. Try to monitor your mistakes and avoid them in the mock-1 exam.
Mock-I Structure
The mock-I is given in two periods as follows:
- Period-I (paper-I): 23 questions in one hour only and it includes the followings:
- Section-1: 20 marks for 20 multiple-choice questions from IGCSE paper P1
- Section-2: 20 marks for three short questions from IGCSE paper P2
- Period-II (paper-II): 6 questions in one and half hour and it includes the followings.
- Section-3: 50 marks for four questions from IGCSE paper P3
- Section-4: 10 marks for two practical questions from IGCSE paper P6
The exam is graded based on a 100-points scale and 70% of that will be added to your previous work which worth 30%.
